Overall ok, the rooms were set up a little awkwardly. The breakfast area was too small for the size of the hotel. Otherwise clean and nice.
One of the finer establishments I have stayed in. Your average hotel breakfast. Very welcoming staff. Pool was out of service. Rooms lacked in decor. Overall for one night I had a pleasant stay.
This hotel is fine, the water will leave you feeling a bit slimy. But the GM here, Deon Smith, is a great manager and goes above and beyond for the guests. I travel quite a bit for work and stay in Marriott facilities often, and Mr. Smith exerted a tremendous effort to take care of me when the Marriott system failed and put him in a tough spot. I have never experienced a hotel GM put such effort forth for the guests of their facility, especially since he was not even directly responsible. Thank you Deon, you have won me back and I will always stay here while in the area as a direct result of your management. I hope they take good care of you, because They have a real asset in your leadership.
We just had a wonderful experience at the Residence Inn Champaign. The hotel is like nice with an excellent staff. Free, hot breakfast is good either way grab cafe free eggs. At check in-we were given a room right next to a bunch of families in town for a soccer tournament. The manager, Saleema upgraded us to a one bedroom suite on a quiet floor. The entire staff works so hard & provided great service. Also, thank you to Terico & Jasmine for their kindness. Highly recommend!
We stayed at the hotel from Aug 12th to 29th. Staff are very good and responded to all our needs esp Juana who leads the housekeeping team. Juana was very helpful throughout our stay
Stayed here for an event at UIUC. May be we are just blessed, our room was perfect and clean. We didn’t experience any of what some reviewers have complained about. Pleasantly surprised to see the fridge and microwave are not mini size; the room is big and modern with upgrades. Breakfast is great too! The only thing is they should probably work on resolving the issues with third party reservation so that check in goes smooth and more efficient. Will come back again for future events at UIUC! I think it deserves at least 4.5/5 instead of the current 3.9 stars.
No Hotel is perfect. Had a small challenge but was greeted with staff who cared enough to listen and provide a quick response and resolution. Its truly what makes a hotel 5 stars!
There are a few Marriott’s in this area. Between the Courtyard, Fairfield Inn, and the Residence Inn, this one seems to be the newest. It’s clean, the staff is friendly, and the rooms are spacious.
